Galvanized Gabion Wire Mesh for Stone Retaining Wall Cage

Gabion wire mesh box is also called heavy hexagonal wire netting. It is made from high grade Carbon steel iron wire, heavy zinc coated wire, PVC coated wire through twisting and braiding by machine, It is mainly used in supporting and protecting side slope and basis pit, mountain rock hanging mesh, green guard rail netting on side slope, railway guard netting. Heavy hexagonal wire netting also can be worked into stone cage or stone cage cushion, and used in reservoir, river or dyke for closure.

gabion boxes is rectangular basket fabricated from a heavily galvanized hexagonal mesh. Gabions Basket depends mainly on the interlocking of individual stone and rock within the wire mesh for internal stability, and their mass or weight to resist hydraulic and earth forces.

It's a porous type of structure that can sometimes be vegetated. Once assembled, the gabion is filled with stone or rock and the lid secured to form a monolithic structure in accordance with the recommended installation procedures. Gabion box is enviroment friendly and cost effective when compared to other options. The strength comes from a double twisted hexagonal mesh of steel wire which is reinforced by selvage of heavier gauge wire running along the edge and by transverse internal diaphragm at 1m centre. In the event of accidental breakage of one or more of the wires, the double twisted wire configuration will ensure that the mesh will not unravel.

The gabion is made of high corrosion resistance, high strength, ductile low carbon steel wire or PVC coated steel. The box structure is made of gabion cage. According to ASTM and EN standards, the diameter of the low carbon steel wire used varies depending on the engineering design requirements. Generally between 2.0-4.0mm, gabion steel wire tensile strength of not less than 38kg / m2, metal coating weight is generally higher than 245g / m2, stone cage mesh edge diameter is generally greater than the diameter of the cable. The length of the double-stranded part shall not be less than 50mm in length to ensure that the metal coating and the PVC coating of the stranded wire are not damaged.
